My name is bmbcomics and I’m a junkie. I’ve been addicted to comics for almost 30 yrs. As a child, I experimented with the casual superhero book (Batman, Hulk, Spiderman…). Mostly, I looked at the pictures, but as I learned to read, my habit grew.

(cont. from above) No longer satisfied with the occasional purchase, I began visiting my dealer (7-Eleven) more frequently. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the ever-increasing titles I was consuming- including books based on movies such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones. At first, comics filled the void of friends left behind after a cross-country move. But even as I began making new friends, my habit didn’t subside. Still, like most addicts, I thought it was under control. I was oblivious to the fact that comics were playing an increasingly larger role as the years progressed. Like any gateway product, comics naturally lead to more indulgences- action figures, statues, trading cards, original art, and… “Forgive me”… novels. Miraculously, I eventually met a girl who was, at first, a bit leery of my addiction, but quickly became my biggest enabler as we got married and started a family. Soon I was planning family vacations to coincide with comic book conventions all over the country.

Today, despite my habit increasingly impacting my finances, I refuse to cut-back on the comic books I read! I tried quitting “cold-turkey” in the late ‘90s… The withdrawal was ugly. And the relapse resulted in a back issue buying frenzy that left me broke and overdosing in a sea of reading material (I’m not going through that again.)! Instead of running from my addiction, I‘ve decided to embrace it whole-heartedly. I’ve come to the realization that the best way to be able to afford my habit is by dealing to my fellow junkies. …Which brings me to eBay. Over the years, I’ve amassed an awesome collection. Many of my comic books and comic book related items have great sentimental value, and will be tough to part with. Other comics in my collection served their purpose immediately upon being read, and I will have less of a problem letting them go.

But as a junkie, my greatest “high” comes from purchasing and reading NEW comic books, and adding new items to my collection. As a result, I HAVE BECOME TOTALLY DEPENDANT ON YOU, MY EBAY BUYING ENABLERS, to support my habit! I try to keep at least one item (ideally more) listed at all times. Hopefully, you will be tempted to bid on these items. If you’re a junkie too, I’m sure you can relate to my plight. By purchasing my items you are preventing me from taking more drastic measures to feed my addiction. Sure, you’re also filling the classic roll of “enabler”... but heck, there are plenty of worse things I could be addicted to! So don’t feel too guilty. Instead, please add me to your favorite seller list, and check back often to see what I have for sale. Thank you for supporting my habit!
