Eldest by Christopher Paolini
After watching the extended version of the Lord of the Rings triligy on DVD, my 20 year old daughter told me that I should read Christopher Paolini's "Inheritance" series. I started with "Eragon" which I so thoroughly enjoyed that I read the 400++ page book in 4 days. Then I couldn't wait for the next title, "Eldest" to come in the mail and I deliberately read it slowly to savour ever word. Both books are well written. Christopher's ideas for developing the characters and their advertures are exceptional with "Eldest" even eclipsing "Eragon". I would highly recommend that every fantasy lover read these books. The details on developing magical powers for a dragon and his "rider" were very interesting as well as their overcoming great challenges. He wrote the book as someone would who had much life experience and great insight into human character. Don't forget to look for the movie, "Eragon" being released this December 14th, 2006. It's been scripted from Christopher Paolini's book of that title.

Well written, glad to have it in my sewing collection.
I liked the photos and descriptions as well as the illustrations for embellishments. This book helped stimulate more ideas of my own, which is what I bought it for.
