Love this phone. It's great to use and never given me a moment of concern.
If you're looking for the 'next gen' WP7 phone, this is it. The AMOLED screen is gorgeous and even though the unit is thin, it has a good, solid feel to it. Battery life is OK, with it able to run about 1.5 days of 'moderate' use. According to WPBench, it's the fastest thing around right now, and the smoothness and responsiveness of the unit attest to that. The on-screen keyboard is good, but this would absolutely be a killer if it came with a slide-out keyboard!

This is the phone that all others will be measured against
Exterior and Build Quality: Much has been made in the media of the uni-body metal construction and I have to say that this phone is absolutely beautiful to look at and feels even better in the hand. Of all the 40+ phones I've owned, this one has by far the best quality construction. It just oozes of craftsmanship - from the overall size and placement of controls, to the way it feels in the hand. There is nothing cheap or flimsy about this unit. Buttons and jacks are generally found in the usual places (power and headphone on the top; volume up/down on the right -- sorry lefties; and the microUSB on the bottom) but they feel just 'right'. The only complaint I have about having the microUSB on the bottom is that it makes it difficult to put the phone in the cupholder of the car with the charging cable attached. Speed: The Qualcomm 1.7Ghz quad-core Snapdragon CPU just seems to fly through Android 4.2.1 and any of my apps without any hesitation. Even when streaming video while 3 or 4 apps are running in background, there's nary a stutter anywhere. And the touch response is smooth, fast and consistent. I think this thing could handle just about anything. Screen: The 4.7inch screen on the ONE is nothing short of spectacular. It's clear, bright, and displays full 1080p HD. Video display is VERY comfortable -- since you've got your own portable HDTV! The automatic display brightness does have some difficulties with bright sunlight outside though. Battery: The multi-cell 2300mAh LiIon battery generally lasts through a 24 hour period on my generally light use, even with LTE and BT turned on all the time. I still find GPS and WiFi to be major battery burners. There's no real need for NFC here in Canada (yet), so that's been turned off and I only use WiFi when I'm at home at the end of the day for downloads, updates, etc. Radios: Generally, the radios provided with the ONE are as good as most modern smartphones. Cellular coverage is good, WiFi and BT are as good as others. My only disappointment is that the GPS receiver is not quite as sensitive as the one in my 8X. The 8X can get location fixes inside buildings, where the ONE struggles until it gets outside. Camera: There has already been a lot written about HTC's Ultrapixel camera used in the ONE. From practical experience, I can say that the pictures produced by the ONE are excellent in normal light situations and vastly improved in low light. Pictures are sharp with good colour saturation and generally good exposures. Taking the unit out of 'auto' mode helps a lot! For the front facing camera, the pictures are generally good, but I still can't seem to get the hang of not having it look like it was taken with a fish-eye lens :-) Sound: Beats Audio combined with HTC's BoomSound on the ONE is nothing short of amazing for smartphone audio. While it will never compete with component stereos, etc. the sound output is way more powerful than most phones and I think they've tuned the Beats Audio much better with this unit. Apps provided by HTC: HTC provides Sense5 and BlinkFeed as their own overlays to the standard Android interface. To be honest, I didn't see much of Sense5 -- other than the time and weather widgets on the lockscreen and the top of the Home screen. BlinkFeed on the other hand, seems be HTC's response to livetiles on WP8. Provides a customizable, updateable summary feed of everything going on in your calendars, social and news feeds.
