Humphrey mods seem dependable. I like the Boss form factor.
I bought this pedal with the HUMPHREY ATOM SMASHER mod. These cats claim to make this compressor world class. Fair enough, the compressor is a big part of my clean smooth low gain BB, Stevie, Eddie, Jimmy, Jimi, blues and country sound. I dig it. I opened it up and sure enough the high grade components are there, also it is quiet. I play it through a Legacy One at club levels with a low noise floor. I am happy with it. This replaces my Maxon 101 which was almost perfect at low noise and subtlety.

These vintage pedals require a different power supply so beware.
Pedal works, this was a good deal. I will keep it in my collection.

0 of 1 found this helpful I am a big fan of compression, so it is a good thing I like to play clean. If you are a jazz player or a pop rhythm player e.g. The Beatles, you will like this compressor. I like it too, for chords, it is very clean. However it doesn't give me the boost I like. I will keep it but I still search of something a little more. It is priced right at about a buck.
