I've been involved in Scouting for 20 years now which made me aware of the need for affordable quality gear for the price conscious consumer. In 2003 I founded ScoutTech (www.scouttech.com) and Modern Tech Solutions on eBay was formed to help promote the Chinook brand to a worldwide audience. Our goal as an online camping gear retailer was formed in response to the growing need to make camping in comfort (and all other forms of outdoor recreation for that matter) affordable for all (not everyone needs a $700 technical mountaineering tent and there wasn't much in between that and the Wal-Mart special on the market).

Since then I've traveled to test gear in Eastern Africa and Central America as well as backpacked the UK and part of Europe. I have also camped in Banff,Eastern Canada and all over Eastern USA. I'm always looking for other outdoors enthusiasts in the area to trip with (I'm into just about any outdoors sport) as I like to get away whenever I can! If you have any questions about camping gear (any brand,I'm very knowledgeable about most of them as it's my job) travelling or camping in any of the regions I've been I'd love to help out!
