The city of Patan, Lalitpur is renowned for its fine artistry and richness of culture. “Newari” artists are the world class artists in making religious statues and jewelries. High class of skill required is acquired by these artists from their ancestors following the age-old designs and production technology. They have been making a living out of this artistry for a long period of time since “Arniko” the great artist who happened to be “Shakya” artist from Okubahal, Patan, Nepal, introduced Newari Art in Tibet and China. Metalwork dates back to the seventh century AD in this region.
