Comfortable on head, excellent sound...a couple minor gripes aside
These headphones work really well, especially given what I paid for them. With the noise cancelling on they play a full range of sound perfectly, and buzzing is actually fairly minimal even in quiet bits. They do an exemplary job blocking out droning background noise anywhere, even on airplanes or the light rail. Of course they don't cancel out background talking as much or other more sporadic background noise, but few products do.
The headphones are also quite comfortable, at least on my head. I've been able to wear them for hours without feeling any pinching on either my head or ears, and for their size they're quite unobtrusive. The cord locks into the headphones directly, which isn't an essential feature but it's nice for klutzes like me who have proclivities to yank the cord out accidentally.
My only major gripe with these is the sound WITHOUT the noise cancelling, which sounds much more muffled for some reason. I'd previously owned AT's noise cancelling earbuds and they did not have this problem. It's almost as if the headphones have to cancel their own noise, I dunno.
I also lost a screw on these after just a few hours of use. I was fortunately able to poach a replacement from above-mentioned earbuds, but I guess I'll have to leave the usual caveats about being careful with your product, making sure especially not to twist the earphones in directions they're not meant to swivel.
Overall, I'd give it a 3.6 stars or so, rounding up because, all told, they do work quite well, are very comfortable and are definitely the best headphones I've ever owned personally. Well recommended.
