Great collectible
My son is an”Simpsons” mega fan and finding unique gifts/collectibles is becoming more and more difficult. This was a stocking stuffer for him, from one of his favorite episodes, and I was thrilled to find it.

Gallows bring punk to a dizzying, old school crescendo.
I found out about Gallows in the strangest way... getting my hair cut, I was discussing hardcore bands with my barber. He told me about Gallows, and how they reminded him of Black Flag in the best possible way. Though skeptical, he handed me his iPod and hit play. "Kill the Rhythm" kicked in and I was sold. I found the cd being offered and bought it off a fellow ebay-er. First cut to last (a Black Flag cover, not surprisingly), Gallows does not necessarily surprise (despite a welcome and eerie use of keys on certain tracks), but good God, they certainly do not disappoint. There are no skippable tracks on the album; stand outs for me are "In the Belly of a Shark", "Last Fight for the Living Dead", and "Black Heart Queen".
Just get it for yourself and realize what punk rock used to be and can be again. Thanks, Gallows, for teaching us about love.

Meh-tallica: Slowing down/growing up?
I love Metallica, specifically "Master" and "...And Justice...", but hey, so does every fan. I purchased this cd because the band is amazing, yet I did not buy it for the songs that get played on the radio ("Enter Sandman", "Sad but true", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam"). Rather, I bought this because of the song "The God that Failed". Man, that song absolutely crushes. "Through the Never" and "Holier than Thou" rock without the rabid, thrash solos we expect from the band. This album was the turning point for the band as a more "rock" than "metal" act for the few years that fans would rather forget. A good album, for certain.
