Super Mario Galaxy from a retro gamer
1 of 1 found this helpful I have played and completed just about every Mario game from all 3 (main games) on nes, to snes, ds and more. I never thought anything would beat SMB3 for my favorite Mario game but this takes the cake. I am not the biggest fan of 3d Mario games but this raised the bar, not only for Mario but all 3d platformers. It has everything a classic Mario should have, with a new story (kinda), new long lasting characters, groundbreaking physics engine, and just plain old fun, exploration and challenge. As a father on the go, I really liked the pick up and play nature of the game. I could grab a wiimote, play for 15-20 minutes, save and go. It was super easy to just jump back in when ever I had a few minutes to spare, and it always left me wanting to come back for more. I have heard part 2 is even better an am sad I have not yet played it. Super Mario Galaxy is a must own for any Wii owner or Mario fame.

Great game but lacking online multiplayer.
Taking notes from the popular Mario Tennis series, this is Sega's attempt to bring its characters into the arena. Of course Sonic is front and center but if you have been playing games for a while there are some other familiar faces here from franchises such as Super Monkey ball, Samba Di Amigo and Space Channel 5 to name a few. While this game is available on other consoles, the wiimotes make this the go to system for local play. And I say for local play because this is the one version of the game that lacks online multiplayer. The controls are spot on, much like the Virtua Tennis games. There are 8 character and a half dozen levels based mostly on classic Sega franchises. Each player has their own personality and special moves. With plenty of extras to unlock, special modes and tons of mini games, Sega Superstars Tennis offers hours of fun for both single player and larger groups.

Great Wii Exclusive.
Corruption is the 3rd installment in the Metroid Prime series.. It is another prime example of good motion controls in a shooter (pun intended). The original Metroid series helped defined level exploration in gaming and these aspects translate well into a 3D environment. While you do not need to play the other games in the series to enjoy this game, you should. All three games are critically acclaimed with beautifully detailed worlds and deep story lines that have come along away from simply crash landing on a planet and fighting your way off. The puzzles are deep and involving, the boss battles epicly intense, and it has all the power ups you could ask for.
