The World Parrot Refuge, located on Vancouver Island, provides a 'Home for Life' for previously owned pet parrots. We are a non-profit, registered Canadian charity - 100% of proceeds from all sales here will be used to help care for the birds

The World Parrot Refuge is an educational facility that provides a 'Home for Life' for previously owned pet parrots, and is operated by the 'For the Love Of Parrots Refuge Society' (FLOPRS). In 1993, FLOPRS was established by Society President and founder Wendy Huntbatch and Horst Neumann. It is a registered Canadian charity (registration #884218041RR0001). The World Parrot Refuge has over 800 parrots, a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and 23,000 square feet of heated indoor free-flight aviaries with plans for 16,000 square feet of easily accessed outdoor flights for the warmer months. The Refuge opened to the public for educational purposes on June 11, 2005. The Refuge is located in Coombs BC, close to the Goats on the Roof - 2116 Alberni Hwy, Coombs BC V0R 1M0. The World Parrot Refuge in Coombs is in crisis. Funding cuts that have affected many community based groups have forced the refuge to cut back staff and the fate of the birds is in question. With no funding in place, and no other refuge to take on so many birds, the outlook is bleak. We need your help!
